Thelonious Monk - At Newport 1963 dungeon crawlers Study ancient lessonsThe legendary Thelonious Monk's appearance at the legendary Newport festival in 1963 when the so called "High Priest of Bop" brought one of his greatest quartets featuring master Charlie Rouse on tenor sax, Butch Warren on bass, and Frankie Dunlop on drums. This is a great performance based on five of Monk's classic compositions: "Criss Cross", "Light Blue", "Nutty", "Blue Monk", and "Epistrophy". This is pure Monk's essence, don't miss it.
