Hulk Hogan was allegedly only looking out for himself, and Kevin Nash, Sting, and others felt alienated. This caused a rift, and the group that was started to takeover the WCW started to fracture. Thus, The Wolfpac was born. They donned red and black nWo gear instead of black and white and new members started coming through.
