Nepenthes talangensis x glandulifera, BE-3665 lowland Kinabalu and other neighboring mountains
Description
Kinabalu and other neighboring mountains within Kinabalu National Park in Sabah
Nepenthes ovata doesn’t seem to grow on the summit alongside the other Nepenthes species at the locations we observed but we haven’t traveled to all the mountains it grows on
The flared peristomes of each parent are simply brilliant and then you mix in the robust pitcher shape and dark color from robcantleyi “Queen of Hearts” and you’ve got progeny with some amazing potential
More sun exposure produces smaller
beautifully striped Nepenthes truncata (c) from Exotica Plants
Nepenthes talangensis x glandulifera, BE-3665 lowland Kinabalu and other neighboring mountainsNepenthes hybrids tend to exhibit a great degree of hybrid vigor but glandulifera hybrids seem to be in a category of their own. Perhaps its the fact that glandulifera is so isolated in its habitat on Bukit Batu (to our knowledge Chien Lee has been the only intrepid soul brave enough to climb up the intimidating rock face where this species was discovered). We have found this plant to be incredibly vigorous under intermediate and highland conditions.
